Danneman Appointed Jefferson County Public Defender

Montgomery – Adam Danneman of Birmingham has been appointed to lead the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office.  Danneman will assume leadership of the office on July 16th.  Danneman served previously with Birmingham Legal Aid, the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office and as a Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Alabama.  His appointment is made based on the recommendation of the Indigent Defense Advisory Board for the 10th Judicial Circuit.  He is a graduate of the University Of Alabama School Of Law and has practiced in the public and private sectors for over eighteen years.

Chris Roberts Director of the Office of Indigent Defense (OIDS) for the state of Alabama said, “Having practiced extensively in the state and federal criminal justice system, Mr. Danneman brings invaluable experience and insight as Director for the Jefferson County Public Defender Office. He recognizes both the challenges and opportunities that await in ensuring constitutional guarantees for the representation of indigent clients in the 10th Judicial Circuit are met.  I look forward to working with him to develop the Public Defender Office as a model both within and outside our state.”
