Montgomery – Adam Danneman of
Birmingham has been appointed to lead the Jefferson County Public Defender’s
Office. Danneman will assume leadership
of the office on July 16th. Danneman
served previously with Birmingham Legal Aid, the Jefferson County Public
Defender’s Office and as a Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of
Alabama. His appointment is made based
on the recommendation of the Indigent Defense Advisory Board for the 10th
Judicial Circuit. He is a graduate of
the University Of Alabama School Of Law and has practiced in the public and
private sectors for over eighteen years.
Chris Roberts Director of the
Office of Indigent Defense (OIDS) for the state of Alabama said, “Having practiced
extensively in the state and federal criminal justice system, Mr. Danneman
brings invaluable experience and insight as Director for the Jefferson County
Public Defender Office. He recognizes both the challenges and opportunities
that await in ensuring constitutional guarantees for the representation of
indigent clients in the 10th Judicial Circuit are met. I look forward to working with him to develop
the Public Defender Office as a model both within and outside our state.”
